About the Lottery: In November of 1986, 64 percent of Kansas voters approved a constitutional amendment authorizing the creation of a state lottery. The Kansas Legislature passed the "Kansas Lottery Act" in 1987, and the Kansas Lottery was established. The mission of the Kansas Lottery is to produce the maximum amount of revenue possible for the State of Kansas while ensuring the integrity of all games.
The Kansas Lottery sells $1, $2, $3, $5, $10, $20 and $30 scratch tickets and $1 and $2 instant pull tab games. In addition, Kansas Lottery players enjoy Powerball, Mega Millions, Lotto America, Lucky for Life, Super Kansas Cash, Pick 3, 2by2, Keno, Racetrax, and Holiday Millionaire Raffle draw games. Kansas Lottery products are sold at approximately 1,750 retail locations.
The Kansas Expanded Lottery Act, enacted in 2007, authorized the Kansas Lottery to be the owner/operator of casino gaming in four Kansas gaming zones. Boot Hill Casino & Resort in Dodge City; Kansas Star Casino in Mulvane; Hollywood Casino at the Kansas Speedway in Kansas City; and the Kansas Crossing Casino and Hotel in Pittsburg.

About the Position
Compensation: $38,000-$43,000 annual salary
Salary can vary depending upon education, experience, or qualifications.
Special Note: As work responsibilities are in a designated territory, and as the employee’s official work station is in the city and county in which the employee resides in, preference will be given to candidates that reside in and around the Franklin County area. Hiring salary is $38,000 to $43,000.
Position Summary:
This is a route sales position, responsibilities include, but not limited to, managing Lottery retailer accounts in assigned district to achieve short and long-term goals of the Kansas Lottery as determined by the Executive Director and/or the Sales Director. Coordinates and maintains ADA compliance of assigned retailers. Assists with and/or completes retailer change of ownership activities; trains new retailers and retail staff. Coordinates contracts, owner changes, licensing, etc. of retailers. Completes required lottery documentation and as directed by the Sales Director. Works with assigned Lottery retailers to increase sales by analyzing sales report to identify areas for improvement and by developing goals and action plans for retailers. Must have a good understanding of mass markets with EDI systems; the ability to gather, extract, compile and compute data towards measurable goals. Performs quality assurance reviews of assigned Lottery retailers to ensure Excellence of Standards are met through proper installation of equipment and placement of Point of Sale and lottery informational material at retail locations. Manages ticket inventory and recommends adjustments for optimal sales levels. Initiates planning for new business development by seeking out and targeting new Retailers and new sales opportunities within assigned district.
